CRIMINAL damage and burglaries from sheds and garages feature in this week’s #newsfromtheblues page.
• An incident involving criminal damage to a residential property took place on Saturday, June 10 in Broadpark, Okehampton. At around 2.30am someone attempted to smash the double glazed window at the front of the property. The outer pane was smashed, however, the second pain of glass remained intact. Police would be keen to speak to anyone who might have any information about the incident. CR/045629/17.
•A shed robbery took place in Winkleigh overnight on Tuesday, June 13/ Wednesday, June 14. The theft took place at the allotment site near village’s sports centre. One of the sheds had its door ripped off and had a rotavator stolen. The piece of machinery is worth around £250.
Members of the public are reminded to secure their sheds and outdoor storage spaces overnight. • Two car seats worth £400 have been stolen from a garage on Crediton Road in Okehampton. The reports states that the theft happened at some point between Tuesday, May 20 and Wednesday, June 14. Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Credtion Road during this time is urged to contact the police. CR/047141/17.
• A burglary occurred at a ground floor home on Castle Road, Okehampton overnight between Thursday, June 8 and Friday, June 9. Police are interested in speaking to anyone who witnessed any activity in the vicinity of Castle Road during that period. A total of £110 in cash was stolen from the property, including £40 from two decorative money pots.
Members of the public are reminded to secure their doors and windows overnight, especially those on the ground floor. This security measure is often overlooked during warmer weather. CR/046140/17.
