POLICE are reminding people not to leave possessions on display in their vehicles while exploring Dartmoor following several thefts.

Thieves stole a handbag containing a substantial amount of cash after smashing the window of a car parked at Prewley water treatment works at Sourton Down near Okehampton on Sunday (January 6).

The incident took place sometime between 11.45am and 1.22pm.

Okehampton Police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious on that date, quote CR/00180319.
