STAFF at Tavistock Specsavers donned their finest 80s fancy dress to raise money for Comic Relief last week.
The team from Specsavers dressed up in outfits inspired by 80s disco and Kylie Minogue to raise money for the charity as well as celebrate the launch of the singer’s new glasses collection.
The store even had a life-size cut-out of the singer, who was made famous from her 80s hits including I Should Be So Lucky and Locomotion.
Specsavers customers were given the opportunity to pose for a selfie with Kylie in exchange for a donation to Comic Relief.
Rachel Martin, a representative from Tavistock Specsavers, said: ‘The 80s disco day was to celebrate the launch of Kylie’s new eyewear collection as well as raise money for Comic Relief. It’s been a great day and it’s been a laugh coming to work in leg warmers!’
Fellow Specsavers employee Jasmin Eastel added: ‘We had a cardboard cut-out of Kylie, which we allowed everyone to take a selfie with her for a donation and we’ve also had Kylie CD playing throughout the day.’
Tavistock Specsavers will continue to fund raise for Comic Relief on Red Nose Day, March 24, when staff will be wearing red and bringing in cakes.
