THE National Trust’s Castle Drogo is inviting people to donate their unwanted clocks to become part of a new contemporary art installation.
The ‘Harrison’s Garden’ will be the new art piece created by internationally renowned artist Luke Jerram, that will be on display at the castle from July 14.
Clocks of any colour, size and age are welcome to feature in the collection. Clocks can be donated by dropping them off at the Castle Drogo Visitor Centre until Friday, July 7.
If you’re not able to get to Castle Drogo, you can drop off your unwanted clocks in to Okehampton Library.
The team at the library will be able to accept them on behalf of the National Trust from 9am every day from Monday, June 26 until Friday 30 June.
Paula Clarke, Community Engagement Officer for the National Trust at Castle Drogo, will then be at the library on Friday 30 June from 9am until 12 midday to collect any clocks in person and transport them to Castle Drogo.
Castle Drogo hopes to gather over 500 ticking treasures from the public by July 7. The 500 clocks will join 2000 clocks already part of the installation that will go on display in the summer.
