RAIN again stopped play at Yelverton Bowling Club.

On Monday the ladies? home league match against Ivybridge had to be cancelled due to the weather, as was the men?s Evening League game, again against Ivybridge, which should have been played on Tuesday evening.

The ladies did manage to play their away league game against Oreston on Friday. One rink won while the other lost by three shots.

Overall it was a win for Yelverton who gained four points.

Saturday?s mixed friendly away match against Callington ended in a defeat for Yelverton but they had a resounding victory over Ivybridge on Sunday afternoon.

Members are mourning the sudden death of long-standing member Bill Northam. Bill was green-keeper for some years and a qualified coach. He will be sadly missed and hard to replace.
