UNDERPRIVILEGED children will get a day out at the Heatree activity centre at Manaton on Dartmoor thanks to the Milton Abbot-based charity Chicks.
It is part of the Make a Difference Day, organised nationwide by Community Service Volunteers and sponsored by the Woolwich Building Society, on October 28. Thousands of people around the country will be giving their time voluntarily to help others in many different ways.
This will be the third year in which Chicks has contributed, said its activity organiser Emily John. The children will be involved in outdoor team-building exercises such as tackling an adventure course.
Last year Chicks took children out cycling in Cornwall and the year before it took a party around Plymouth Docks.
Set up in 1992, the charity now provides holidays for hundreds of children every year.
