MEAVY Primary School held a Global Arts Week recently, when the children participated in arts from around the world.

Year 1 children recreated 3D  work by the Austrian architect, Hundertwasser Haus and all the children made textiles representing the Ojo de Dios (God's Eye) from north western Mexico.

Years 1, 2, 3 and 4 recreated European cave paintings in chalk, pastel and charcoal. There was a variety of Sri Lankan art and all the children used origami to make varied objects.

Year 5 wrote animal poems based on their zoo experience during the week and created artwork around animal skin patterns.

The children all took part in African drumming and listened to other children give musical recitals. Some of the younger children cooked pizza and other food from around the world.

The week culminated in an exhibition of the children's work in the school hall and parents were invited to view it.
