A TAVISTOCK funeral service has been recognised for their customer care following a national award ceremony.

Walter C Parson, based at West Street, is part of a local company that also has branches in Plympton, Ivybridge, Torpoint, Newton Abbot and Torquay along with those in Crownhill and St Jude's in Plymouth.

At the National Funeral Exhibition in Coventry earlier this month Walter C Parson was one of 50 funeral service companies presented with a customer care award.

The awards, reflect the high standard of customer care, are based on responses to a national survey of clients who purchased a funeral prepayment plan.

The survey results showed that 77% of Walter C Parson clients were 'very satisfied' with the service provided and 22% were 'satisfied'. No-one was dissatisfied and 99% of those who responded said they would recommend the plan to someone else.

Emma Dobson, director of Walter C Parson, Tavistock, told the Times: 'Walter C. Parson is delighted to have received this customer care award and pride ourselves in continuing to provide our families with a truly personal and professional service.

'The Tavistock office is the most recent addition to the family-owned, independent group which was established in 1842 and continues to maintain the high standards of dedication and values of tradition.

'Funeral directors provide a very personal service to families and some deserve recognition for exceptional customer care,' added Graham Williams of Funeral Planning Services.
