AN Okehampton-based rock group which is catching the eye of record producers are on the look out for new talent to join their band.

Choppy are looking for a new drummer and lead vocalist to enhance their line-up and take them to the top.

The group, all former students at Okehampton College, have already supported bands like Republica, Elevator Suite and Vicious Circle.

They were voted runners-up to Muse as Best Band and 'brightest hope 2000' in the recent South West TDB Awards and as a result are receiving interest from record labels.

Choppy's current drummer had to stand down as a result of the extra commitment needed — the band also wants a charismatic vocalist to front the band and set them apart from other emerging UK acts.

Martin Brunt, Choppy's lead guitarist, said: 'The band is moving on very quickly and is no longer just a hobby, so 100 percent dedication is required.'
