PUPILS and staff from years five and six at Gulworthy Primary School celebrated the end of term by cooking their own lunch and making dens during Forest School.
Forest School is an innovative educational approach to outdoor play and learning, which runs throughout the year. Pupils go into the woods in all weathers, and use full size tools, play, learn boundaries of behaviour and grow in confidence.
Each forest school session combines woodland activities with team building games and builds upon and extends skills learned in previous sessions.
Head teacher Melody Nicholls said: 'Forest School has clearly inspired and motivated all pupils. Children are loving learning through positive outdoor experiences, developing their self esteem, confidence and intellectual skills. We are really proud of the huge success of Forest School already.'
