BERE Ferrers ward borough councillor Angela Blackman has confirmed that the peninsula’s new community fridge is being well utilised.
At the most recent Bere Ferrers parish council meeting, Cllr Blackman reported the fridge as having 29 weekly users and said: ‘Our focus with the fridge is reducing food waste so that people don’t go without. We work with Devon and Cornwall Food Action and FareShare to secure 50kg of food each week. We’re now looking to obtain another fridge for storage and operate as a Community Interest Company as this is an initiative which is not for profit.’
