Third were Bob Collett and Adrian Rice with 43pts. On Wednesday the ladies played their qualifying Coronation Foursomes, again the scoring was close and the first four teams were divided by one point. Winning on the back nine with 32pts were Lin Atkinson and Jane Warren beating lady captain Cherry James and Doris Jewell also 32. Third were Penny Deakin and Mary Keir with 31pts on countback. The ladies also played a friendly match away at Stover, near Newton Abbot on Friday. The weather was beautiful and the day was successful with the Okehampton ladies learning the recently altered course. Cherry James and Paula O'Neil won the first match 1up, but the team had to wait for the last match of Doris Jewell and Maureen Howe to come in before another successful result could be recorded. The final result was four and a half to one and a half in Stover's favour.
