EAST Cornwall Harrier Alice Gray impressed at the British Modern Biathlon UK Championships held this month, coming away with a silver medal.

The championship involved athletes who had achieved top three places in their respective regions to compete against each other natonally in swimming and track running.

In her year group Alice swam in 34 seconds 50m, and in the 500m race she clocked 1m 40sec which was enough to secure a silver behind the eventual winner.

Alice, who lives in Calstock and attends Calstock School as a year 5 pupil, trains at East Cornwall Harriers and swims at Plymouth Leander and Launceston swim clubs.
