A SUPPORTER of the Margaret Green Animal Rescue Centre, Tavistock has decided to 'give something back' by doing a 'coast to coast' sponsored walk this week.
Bill McOwan, aged 60 from Tavistock, who has been a volunteer at MGAR's Wingletang Rescue and Rehoming Centre for more than two years, is walking an impressive 118 miles for the charity.
He said: 'I am a big supporter of the work carried out by Margaret Green Animal Rescue.
'I have two rescue dogs that I adopted from the charity and regularly volunteer at the Wingletang centre in Tavistock.
'I love to walk and felt that this would be a great way to give something back for all the pleasure that my dogs give me.'
Bill, together with three friends, set off from Wembury, Devon on Monday (April 30). They aim to finish their walk at Lynmouth in North Devon later this week.
'I'm hoping to raise as much money as I can for Margaret Green Animal Rescue. One hundred per cent of donations go directly to animal welfare, so please sponsor me and help them with their rescue and rehoming work.'
