BRIDESTOWE Scout Group enthusiastically embraced Scout Community Week, which ran from May 14 to 20.
On the Wednesday the group demonstrated a back to basics approach and offered help in and around Bridestowe.
This is a return to the tradition of 'bob-a-job' week.
The event was well supported by residents, with offers of numerous cars to wash, front paths to be swept and gardens to be tidied.
The Beavers and Cubs, supported by leaders and parent helpers, rose to the challenge as car after car had a thorough wash.
The event raised more than £70 in voluntary donations, which will be apportioned between Bridestowe Scout Group and the development grants board, a national Scout fund which provides assistance with the costs of participating in scouting activities for those families facing financial hardship.
Bridestowe Scout Group expressed thanks to all who supported their efforts and hope this will become an annual event.
