THE sun came out just in time for last weekend's Chagstock festival, which was a complete sell-out.

In its sixth year, revellers at the family-friendly music festival at Whiddon Down enjoyed good weather throughout the weekend, with this year's theme being Kings, Queens and the Knights of the Round Table.

Festivalgoers got into the mood by dressing up and exploring everything the event had to offer.

Festival organiser Si Ford said: 'I am absolutely speechless. The festival sold out, we had good weather, and everyone had a great time.

'My personal highlight is the same every year — getting to walk around and see how much fun everyone is having, and this year it was really great. The weather was perfect, and everyone was in a great mood.

'The wet weather the week before put us back a bit, but we are used to that really. All I hoped for was that the weekend itself was dry, and we got that this time.

'All the bands and acts loved it. All in all everything went brilliantly.'

The headline acts included Fun Lovin' Criminals, who brought their alternative rock and hip-hop vibe to the festival as main headliners on Saturday.

Scottish songwriter KT Tunstall took to the acoustic stage on Friday night.

Other acts included Dartmoor's own Seth Lakeman, Mad Dog McRea, Alabama 3, singer-songwriter Kate McGill and the winners of the 2011 Okehampton Battle of the Bands, the Monkey Gland Blues Band.

The festival returned to its original two-day format this year, and new additions included the debut of 'The Village Green', a revamped and enlarged children's area, and the decision to allow all under 12s to attend for free.

This year's event also had a renewed emphasis on ensuring that where possible, artists, food, traders and brewers all had strong links to the South West.
