BURRATOR Twinning Association recently hosted visitors from the village of Mathieu in Normandy.
Members of the twinning association welcomed the 24 French participants, together with schoolchildren and teachers, at Meavy Primary School.
The children had an opportunity to demonstrate the French vocabulary they had been taught, by offering refreshments to the visitors and by presenting a short film they had made.
During the visit, a group of 50 travelled to Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum near St Austell.
Both the French and the English found the guided tours and interactive displays very interesting.
The hosting families entertained their guests with visits to local places of interest and one evening the whole group met for dinner at the Two Bridges Hotel.
Burrator Twinning Association is open to anyone living in or near the parish of Burrator.
Members are invited to visit Mathieu during alternate years and to host a French couple for reciprocal visits.
