BARNABAS House Bed and Breakfast in Yelverton has just been awarded the prestigious ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Award.
Owners Angela and Steve Plews said: ‘We are absolutely delighted that that VisitEngland — the official tourist board for England — has awarded us its prestigious ROSE Award. VisitEngland awards only 100 each year to accommodation providers throughout the country.
‘We were surprised and thrilled to receive a letter from VisitEngland advising that we had been nominated by our quality assessor in August, and after all entries went to a final panel of judges, we were selected.
‘The final judging panel also took into account online reviews and looked for innovation that set our business apart from the rest.
‘We are very proud of what we have achieved at Barnabas House over the past 18 months and are very excited about our future here.
‘Thank you to all our lovely guests for leaving online reviews for us which has undoubtedly helped us win this award.’
The ROSE Award is designed to showcase establishments that provide the warmest of welcome.
VisitEngland’s head of industry development Pam Foden said: ‘From glamping in the valleys to cosy B and Bs in the hills, the sheer number of accommodation providers recognised for going the extra mile in this year’s awards demonstrates the outstanding quality of service and innovation of products on offer to visitors across the country.
‘Providing a high level of customer service is crucial to repeat business and the spread of awards shows that the accommodation sector is thriving across the entire country.’
