FIRE CREWS used a thermal imaging camera for safety purposes, following a fire at Middlemoor, Whitchurch on Sunday.

Two fire appliances from Tavistock were called to the residential premises at around 7.50pm on Sunday evening, where crews found a fire involving a light on the outside of the building.

The crews, under the control of Watch Commander Glenn Arundel, found an outside light had caused part of the flat roofing at the property to overheat, and extinguished it using buckets of water.

They also checked the scene was safe using the thermal imaging camera.
