THERE is still just time to apply to become Hatherleigh Carnival prince and princess for 2014. At least one of the couple must attend either Hatherleigh or Highampton Primary School. The successful applicants will receive a grant of £175 towards the cost of their float and the carnival committee will happily give any advice or help needed. To find out more call Dawn on 01837 810265. The carnival royalty is due to be revealed by this year's carnival president Alma Knight tomorrow (Friday) in Hatherleigh Community Centre. There is a disco for all ages from 6.30pm to 10.30pm, with entry costing £1 and under 10s must be accompanied by an adult. There is a duck race at 7.30pm and a barbecue, bar and tuck shop.
