REVELLERS returned to Chagstock last weekend for a heady mix of musical entertainment.

On the edge of Chagford, the rolling hills once more provided one of the best festival backdrops imaginable.

Among the highlights were festival favourites Mad Dog Mcrea, who brought their often whimsical look at life and cherished songs such as Little Black Fly and Am I Drinking Enough? Always set to a truly foot-stomping mix of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz and bluegrass; loyal fans were not disappointed.

Other hits with the crowds were American trio Fun Lovin’ Criminals, house band New Crisis and the FBs, Amy Montgomery, Katy Hurt and From the Jam.

Chagstock had a strong environmental message this year. Its fancy dress theme was ‘Under the Sea’ and organisers teamed up with Plastic Oceans UK environmental charity. All drinks were served in re-useable mugs and the signage was made from recycled plastic. The festival site, as always, was almost pristine, with no litter on the ground.
