Ocean League U12s
Tavistock Girls 0
Staddiscombe 2
TAVISTOCK were without Sarah Barrett and Heidi Davies and had to reshuffle the team.
It was tough going but Tavistock played the better football.
A corner kick from Staddiscombe was deflected in from a Tavistock player for an unfortunate own goal.
This made Tavistock more determined and in the second half they kept the pressure up.
Staddiscombe played physical football and Bassett took a couple of hard knocks. Robynne Honey in goal pulled off a string of saves that left the crowd gasping.
It seemed only a matter of time before Davey who was steaming through the Staddiscombe defence scored. Unfortunately it was at the other end when a lapse in concentration saw the ball played across the goal where a Staddiscombe player lay in wait to slot it in.
Tavistock lost Page after a stamp on her foot. Bassett too had to be brought off but it was a gallant effort against the league champions. Good wishes go to Joy Page and hope for a speedy recovery with her broken foot.
Player of the match: Robbyne Honey.

Tavistock Girls 2
TAVISTOCK knew they could have a win and although it was hard work it paid off when a well struck corner from Macauley was struck in by Parsons.
Louise Galway captained well from her defensive position and Holly Krotke and Ruth Cole were their usual towers of strength. Corrales chased and battled away and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Katie O?Leary got herself in good scoring positions but was unable to finish. Della Maloney had a quiet match but had to dive on a couple of good shots from Staddiscombe.
The second goal was well worked up from Krotke and smashed home by Macauley to seal a well deserved victory.
Player of the match: Rhianne Parsons.
