PUPILS from Meavy Primary School were treated to a guided walk around Bellever Forest in Postbridge recently.

Two classes from the school were taken by three guides, Paul, David and Barbara, for a guided walk by the Dartmoor Pony Heritage Trust.

One class had a history focus and the children looked at Bronze age settlements, including burial chambers and looked at how people used to survive, while the other class built on their knowledge of the local area and animals in their environment.

Unfortunately the children did not see many animals but did get to see minibeasts and a number of Dartmoor ponies.
