YEOFORD took a step towards retaining the Buckley Cup last Thursday when an inept batting display by Belstone handed them an easy six-wicket victory at Rew Meadow. Opener Pete Gross (16) held the Belstone innings together until he was fifth out with the score on 49. Thereafter, the innings collapsed as the final five wickets fell in just 12 minutes for the addition of only seven runs, the damage being done by Leach and Andy Coren who clean bowled the last four wickets between them in six balls. Belstone responded with accurate opening spells from Jonathan Parsons and Andy Paterson which had Yeoford briefly wobbling at nine for three before Cleave Collins (22 not out) and Paul Coren (20) saw them home with over five overs to spare.
