FIRECREWS from Yelverton, Bere Alston and Princetown took part in a staged car and rail crash at Plym Bridge Woods last week.

The training exercise took place on the level crossing in the woods, using the scenario of a car being hit by a train on the crossing.

A full evacuation of the train was staged, with 'live casualties' being rescued from both the car and the train.

The West Devon retained crews were joined by firefighters from Ivybridge and Modbury for the emergency simulation exercise.
