The Okehampton branch of Mole Avon Country Stores has raised over £1,100 for its chosen charity of the year, Hospiscare, it announced this week.
Carolyn Smy, who works in the store, undertook the Tour de Devon, a cycling challenge in aid of Hospiscare, a Devon-focused charity which provides support for terminally ill patients and their familes both at their hospice in Exeter and within the community. They charity supports more than 2,000 adults every year, across Exeter, Mid and East Devon.
Carolyn cycled 400 miles over the course of September and raised over £800 for the charity. The store also held an ’I Love Dartmoor’ raffle which raised over £300 for the charity.
