A REWARD is being offered for the safe return of a working sheepdog who went missing from a family farm in Chagford three weeks ago.
The black, white and tan eight-year-old, Benji, was last seen outside the farm gate on April 2.
The Stanbury family are desperately missing their pet, who was never happier than when he was riding around with Patrick Stanbury on the farm quad bike.
Patrick's mother, Hazel, said Benji was not in the habit of going off but the farm was situated on two footpaths which were busy on the bank holiday weekend.
'He may have followed someone who was walking a bitch and for some reason could not find his way back, or he may have gone off with someone, although it is not like Benji because he is very much a one-man dog,' she said.
'He absolutely loves bikes and LandRovers and is well known in Chagford.'
Posters have been put up all around the area and the family have travelled as far as Widdacombe, Spreyton and South Zeal in search of their beloved pet.
'Benji is our only farm dog and he is being missed tremendously,' added Mrs Stanbury.
Benji is very distinguished looking, holds his head high and has symmetrical markings. If anyone has seen a dog matching his description they should call 07759 011527.
