THE Margaret Green Foundation Trust is turning one person?s rubbish into its own treasure for the organisation?s much needed funds. Fundraisers traditionally call for money donations but this month, MGFT is appealing for items usually placed in the bin, such as used printer cartridges and old mobile phones, to help care for the animals. MGFT, which offers a rescue and re-home facility for many animals in need in Dorset and Devon, is running its fundraising campaign in partnership with the Recycling Appeal. The group will give MGFT around £5 for every mobile phone and around £1 for every printer cartridge collected. When mobiles and cartridges are binned they end up in landfill sites where they can cause pollution when chemicals leak into the surrounding soil. To participate in this fundraiser, drop off unwanted mobiles and cartridges to Wingletang in Heathfield near Tavistock or contact the Recycling Appeal on 08451 302010 for a freepost envelope.
