WITH inspirational figure John Downham deciding to take a stint on the touchline it was left to Scott Dent to lead the Mary Tavy team on a heavy surface.

With support from the hard working duo of Nick Johns and James Coole, the captain settled his team into a fine rhythm and with Alan Grylls in red hot form they took the lead.

By the time 45 minutes were up Mary Tavy were seven goals to the good and with Mike Payne and Ian Hunter outstanding in the defence it was not going to be Tintagel's day.

With the second half underway and attacking the heavy-underfoot goalmouth Mary Tavy found it difficult to play their normal passing game but went on to claim three more goals to take their tally to ten.

Andy Pedrick claimed a rare goal after coming on as a sub and smashing the ball high into the roof of the net. Other scorers: A Grylls (4), N Johns (3),D Downham and J Coole.
