I AM writing in response to the statement on last week's front page by the deputy land steward of the Duchy of Cornwall , who trusts we will be 'understanding of the reasoning behind what the Duchy is striving to achieve, in relation to the long term management' of the Okehampton Range.

I have found no-one who can understand, so come on, Mr Stratton, why don't you arrange a meeting and explain to us face to face how you reasoned that our private cars are more intrusive than the heavy trucks and equipment of the military?

Am I cynical to think that perhaps the money paid to the Duchy by the MoD has something to do with it?
