HIGHAMPTON Primary School recently visited RHS Garden Rosemoor to see the school’s winning entry to the ‘Design an International Space Station’ competition.

The winning design was created by the school’s technology club and their triumph was a great way to celebrate the end of term.

The Year 6 children also organised a pet show during the last week of term where the children brought along a wide range of pets from home. They raised £135.91 for their chosen charity, Help the Heroes.

Back in May the school was awarded the Primary Times Challenge Shield for their artwork at the Devon County Show.

The pupils’ entries were on display at the show with two children winning individual first prizes for their work.

Following a visit to Paignton Zoo earlier in the term, all the children helped to decorate a full sized baby rhino art piece as part of the zoo’s sponsorship programme to save endangered species.

The rhino will be going on public display for the summer before returning to school in the autumn, ready for the new term.
