TAVISTOCK Community Primary School welcomed members from the Tavistock Lions, Rotary and the Mary Budding Trust to see its new in-class sound loop to enable a deaf child to fully partake in classroom learning.

Local charity The Mary Budding Trust worked with the Tavistock Lions and Rotary clubs to provide a new sound-field system. The equipment filters out background sounds and helps to access the spoken word more effectively.

Pictured with trust members are Norrie Phillips from the Rotary club and Hywel Edwards from the Lions club along with class teacher Charlotte Lynch, who is a specialist advisory teacher for deaf children, and some pupils in the class.
