PUPILS at Okehampton Primary School undertook a rocket launch as part of National Science and Engineering Week 2016.
Each class was given the task of designing a liquid-powered rocket, which had to safely carry an egg into the sky. The children were encouraged to think about how they could make their rocket designs aerodynamic in order to gain as much height as possible.
They considered the amount and type of liquid that was put in the bottle and also thought carefully about how to protect the egg from getting damaged during the launch.
Each rocket was then judged and given a score based on these aspects of their design. The winning classes will take part in some rocket workshops in the autumn term.
