YEAR 2 pupils from Okehampton Primary School recently recreated Pudding Lane, London in 1666 to celebrate their learning of the Great Fire of London.

On Friday, November 25 the school invited parents to come and see the children’s Great Fire of London display.

The children designed, constructed and decorated their own Tudor houses to explain how quickly the fire spread due to the fact they were built too closely and the streets were extremely narrow.

Lights were even added to the houses so they looked like they were actually on fire.

It wasn’t only history the children learnt about during the Great Fire of London theme, but they also learnt about 3D nets in maths, materials in science and designing and modifying their houses in Design Technology.

A spokesperson from the school said: ‘The children were very proud of their houses as were all the parents who came to see them. Well done all of Year 2!’
