CHILDREN at a West Devon primary school showed off their skills at baking a delicacy from the other side of the Tamar at the Princetown Pasty Bake Off.
The contest at Princetown Primary School saw seven children create and cook their very own interpretation of a pasty using local ingredients.
It was supported by Yelverton Rotary Club, who supplied aprons, chefs hats and prizes, with the final held at the school on Wednesday, June 14.
Four judges had the happy task of tasting the results, and had a tough job deciding the winner. That accolade, though, went to Olivia Cardwell (pictured above), who saw her breakfast pasty named Princetown’s Perfect Pasty. She won a £10 gift voucher, with each of the other participants receiving a £5 gift voucher.
The children learnt their pasty-making skills, as well the history surrounding Cornwall‘s most famous bakery product, in a six-week programme at the school led by Emma Burchell and Yvonne Green.
