AN ELDERLY person was taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire in Tavistock on Saturday.
The incident occurred just before 10am on Saturday in Crelake Close. Two fire crews from Tavistock attended and found the elderly person still inside the flat with the fire alight in the kitchen.
The occupant was rescued and the fire dealt with.
l Two fire crews were called to the Grenofen area on Sunday lunchtime, after reports of a sheep being stuck in the river.
The crews, under the direction of Watch Commander Glenn Arundel, managed to get the distressed animal to dry land using water safety equipment.
RSPCA inspectors were also called to assess the condition of the sheep following the incident.
