Bodmin Trophies Duchy League Division Three Cup Semi Final First Leg

Lamerton . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1

St Stephens Borough . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2

LAMERTON'S failure to capitalise on several good chances in the first half in the end cost them the game.

In a highly competitive match they had territorially the better of the first half and on four occasions were one on one with the visitors' keeper, only to put the ball wide. When Borough took the lead one minute before half time through Ian Chudleigh it was less than the home side deserved.

St Stephens started the second half much the brighter and doubled their advantage when a Lamerton clearance was headed back over the defence for Phil Screech to double the advantage. Lamerton were still creating chances however with Paul Cowling again shooting narrowly wide before he eventually got behind the defence to walk the ball past the keeper and into the net.

So with everything still to play for the second leg takes place next Tuesday evening at Saltash. This Saturday away to Dobwalls in the league (2.30 pm ko).
