Tavistock Library is set to host a free, family friendly screening of a musical comedy film shot entirely in Devon, with a special question and answer session and director’s commentary on Saturday.
Having successfully staged similar events at other libraries in the county, the film’s director and producer are now bringing the event for all to Tavistock.
The 15 minute film, Between the Lines, is described by critics as a warm-hearted, feel-good film with a core message about of the importance of libraries and what they provide for their communities. It tells the story of Jane, a shy, quiet girl who spends most of her time in her local library but one day is forced to defend it from closure by the local council in a series of magical musical encounters.
Jeff Sleeman, the film’s producer and assistant director said: ‘This is a very entertaining, professional and uplifting film and has already won a prize for best original song at the Paris Film Festival earlier this year. It was such fun to make and we are delighted to be able to share it with local audiences.’
The event will start at 2.30pm. For more details check the film’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/BTLfilm
