FIRE crews were called to assist someone trapped in a vehicle after a road traffic collision on the A3072 between Highampton and Hatherleigh on Saturday morning. On arrival the crews confirmed a one vehicle collision, with one person trapped inside at around 7.30am. One female casualty was released from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue equipment and given to the care of ambulance personnel. She was taken to hospital via air ambulance.
