A NEW website has this week been launched to help find loving homes for thousands of abandoned cats and kittens, with support from a Tavistock animal sanctuary. Wingletang Sanctuary at Heathfield is run by the Margaret Green Foundation Trust which is based at Church Knowle in Dorset. MGFT helps re-home an average of 350 cats a year, and currently uses the site to help re-home cats across the UK. Thousands of cats are abandoned ever year all across the UK. One case currently relying on the launch of the new website is that of a 15-year-old playful black male cat called Biggley. Biggley, currently at MGFT?s centre in Church Knowle, is diabetic and needs daily insulin shots and a special diet, but is searching for a loving home where he can live out the remainder of his years, peacefully. Pet publishing company, K9 Media Ltd, and leading pet insurance provider Petplan are behind the website initiative. Margi Salih from Petplan said: ?While the general cat population is growing, sadly more are being abandoned and we?d urge all cat lovers who may be considering expanding their feline family to visit Feline Online.? Margaret Green of MGFT said: ?Feline Online is excellent. It shows just the right level of professionalism and standard of material ? easy to use and undoubtedly very supportive of rescue charities such as ourselves.? Cat lovers can now go to http://www.felineonline.com">www.felineonline.com to view cats looking for a new home from across the UK.
