VARIOUS dangerous demonstrations will be taking place this Saturday, as Yelverton Fire Station hosts an open day.

The event promises to be fun and informative with a variety of stalls, face painting, light refreshments, and a barbecue.

Activities and demonstrations will show how firefighters deal with situations on a day-to-day basis, including road traffic collisions and chip pan fires as well as offering members of the public the chance to find out more about community safety.

The local ambulance and police will also be attending with proceeds going to the fire fighters' charity.

The open day takes place this Saturday (September 11) from 11am to 4pm.
