A 68-YEAR-old man was rescued by firefighters after he became trapped under a tractor at Liddaton on Friday.
The man, who had been cutting a hedge from the tractor when it toppled over on to its side, causing him to slip down inside the vehicle, was taken to hospital with suspected foot injuries.
Two crews from Tavistock Fire Station were at the scene for four hours.
They used hydraulic cutting equipment and winches to rescue the local man whose foot was trapped under the wheel of the tractor.
Watch commander Glenn Arundel said the incident happened on an unclassified road at Liddaton. 'We got the man out within half an hour and the rest of the time was spent clearing up the oil and diesel and moving the tractor,' he said.
The incident happened at 12.45pm.
