A TAVISTOCK man has received a total fine of £527 and a three year football banning order after pleading guilty to using threatening and abusive behaviour towards another person.
Thomas Dunne, 29, of Tavistock used threatening and abusive or insulting words or behaviour with the intent to cause another to believe unlawful violence would be used against them (contrary to section 4(1) and (4) of the Public Order Act 1986) in Plymouth on November 27 2021, on a day Plymouth Argyle were playing at their home ground of Home Park against Wigan Athletic.
He pleaded guilty at Plymouth District Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 21 where, taking his guilty plea into account, the serving magistrate issued him with the three year ban and ordered him to pay a £400 fine, to pay a £42 surcharge to fund victim services and to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, the total of which is to be paid by April 17.
Additional, specific requirements of Mr Dunne’s three year football banning order state that he is not to:
— Travel to or enter any town or city boundaries in which Plymouth Argyle are playing an away regulated football match between the time six hours before published kick off and six hours after the final whistle,
— Enter Central Park, Plymouth on any day when Plymouth Argyle Football Club are playing home regulated football match six hours before the published kick off and six hours after the final whistle,
— Travel to or enter any city boundaries in England or Wales in which the England national team are playing a regulated international football match between the time 24 hours before the published kick off and 12 hours after the whistle,
— Enter the town, city or parish boundary wherein a fixture is being played, during the period eight hours before until eight hours after the scheduled kick off time on any day when the England senior mens national team are playing a fixture within England, Wales or Scotland.
