THE annual Abbots' Way walk, organised by the Friends of Tavistock Youth Network, was held on Sunday.

The 25-mile walk started at Buckfast Abbey at 8am and followed the ancient route across Dartmoor to Tavistock.

Forty-six teams finished the walk — many of them aged under 18 — despite bad weather.

Thanks were expressed to Tavistock, Ashburton and Plymouth Dartmoor Search and Rescue sections and to the radio club for checkpointing and all the other volunteers who manned the start and finish.
