A charity jailbreak held at the newly refurbished Tavistock Guildhall has raised more than £6,000 for Children’s Hospice South West.
Here are some pictures from the ‘Jail or Bail’ event held recently in the town, with businesspeople and Tavistock county councillor Debo Sellis taking part.
They undertook a ‘walk of shame’ around the town dressed in convicts’ stripes, with real-life Tavistock police officer PCSO Seonaid Greenwood accompanying them.
Then in the refurbished magistrates court, they each pleaded their case before a judge to be let out of jail for various made-up misdemeanours – in return for a hefty donation to the charity. This is the first time CHSW have held such an event in Tavistock and, as the pictures by photographer Helen Northcott show, a fun time was had by all!
