Launceston U13s 10

Okehampton U13s 5

AS the score suggests this was a close game ? one Okehampton should have won if they could have turned possession and territory into points.

In the first 15 minutes Launceston never left their own half and hardly touched the ball, such was the power and control Okehampton had at the rucks by the pack.

Scrum-half Will Heard moved the ball well to Browne and Chisholm, with Honeychurch at full back coming into the back line with good effect.

Wingers Alec Vincent and Adam Clark both had runs with the ball but no one was able to cross the try-line.

Launceston scored either side of half-time. The Okehampton forwards of Simpson, McGratton, Bennie, Crocker, Bullingham, Friend and Long then started to control the forward battle, driving Launceston back, and from a ruck ten metres out Rob Long picked up and drove over.

This spurred Okehampton on with good driving runs by forwards and backs, putting the Launceston line under pressure. Hooker Tim McGratton?s lineout throwing was excellent in windy conditions.

The referee called an end to the proceedings with a few minutes to play due to an injury to a Launceston player being airlifted to Derriford Hospital but later allowed home.
