FIREFIGHTERS from Okehampton, Hatherleigh and North Tawton were among six units from across Devon called to deal a gas explosion near Wembworthy this week. A man was injured in the incident and suffered burns to his face and arms. He was treated at the scene by fire service and ambulance crews. The fire broke out at quarter to four on Tuesday afternoon. The building, used as a chicken shed, contained six 45KG propane cylinders and was well alight upon the arrival of the crews.
