A GERMAN exchange return visit to Tavistock College took place from February 7 to 13, despite the adverse weather.
Due to the serious snowy weather conditions at the time, it was touch and go as to whether it was possible to host the German students and their two teachers or to postpone the trip until later.
In the end the students and teachers decided to come. Tavistock parents met the party in the town on Saturday afternoon and the programme of events took off on the Monday with a visit to meet town mayor and mayoress, Robin and Diana Pike, who are pictured with the students and teachers.
After being treated to a Germanic lunch with all the trimmings, the guests were shown around Tavistock— in pouring rain!
The next few days were spent in lessons and on trips to Exeter, Buckfast Abbey and the Eden Project. Goodbyes and presents were exchanged on the farewell evening and some tears were shed on both sides.
