JOHN and Susan Reynolds, of Haseley, Tavistock, celebrated their golden wedding on March 12.
The couple met while working at Fulham Power Station and were married at St Lawrence's Church, Morden, Surrey.
They started married life living on a converted deep sea trawler moored on the River Thames. However, it was their move to Cherrybrook Hotel in 1969 with their two daughters that became a significant part of their married life.
Cherrybrook Hotel flourished during the 21 years they were there, with many customers returning repeatedly.
On retirement to Tavistock, John and Susan have become involved in many organisations around the town, sitting on a number of committees and taking a keen interest in local events.
Family and friends travelled from London and Australia to mark the occasion with a party held for John and Susan at Brown's Hotel, Tavistock on March 13.
They requested donations to the National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen in lieu of gifts.
