THE Okehampton and District Chamber of Trade's Okehampton Festival of Food and Music returned to the town centre last weekend with a huge array of activities and stalls.

After two successful years of the event, the chamber decided to hold the event again on Saturday, July 4. The event celebrates local food and music and took place throughout the town centre with even more food stalls and different styles of music than at previous festivals.

Entertainment included the Okehampton Excelsior Silver Band, Troubadour's Garden, Okehampton Acoustic Club plus many more musicians wandering around the town and cafés.

There was also Morris dancing throughout the day.

Donna Tombs, chair of the chamber of trade, said: 'The festival appeared to go very well.

'Certainly in Red Lion Yard it was very busy and people were enjoying themselves and I hope that was the same throughout the town.'
